A special edition of what will become an ongoing event here at the Library… Join us this February Vacation to help kick off Pokemon Club! In addition to some Pokemon-related activities, participants will help shape the future of the club by brainstorming ideas for what our meetings should look like, and what kinds of fun things we can incorporate into them.

Please still bring your device if you play Pokemon GO (6-hour lures will still be in effect!) or your cards/games if you want to show them off. Recommended for ages 6 & up.

Planting for Pollinators
Mar 20 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Pollinators are a very important topic at the moment in the world of horticulture.  Gardeners and consumers alike are most interested in helping them (particularly the decline in the bee population) and planting shrubs/trees/flowers to attract them to the landscape.

This PowerPoint presentation begins with a short overview about pollination and why it is important, then goes on to target ways in which we can help the pollinators and how this can be accomplished. It notes what is best to do and what practices to avoid. Geri Jones, owner of Churchill Gardens, will welcome a question and answer period at the end. The presentation includes handouts to use as handy reference guide listing various trees/shrubs/flowers that are most beneficial.

This program will be presented by Geri Jones, who established Churchill Gardens Inc, in 1998. Geri has over 20 years experience in the horticultural industry and established Churchill Gardens in 1998. She is currently a weekly content writer for the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association, a member of the American Rose Society, a member of the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association as well as a member of the National Association of Landscape Contractors. Geri’s work has been published in both Garden Gate magazine and New England Home. She has also had her work televised on NECN.
