Jarrett J. Krosoczka, the acclaimed and amazing creator of the Lunch Lady series, Peanut Butter and Jellyfish, Hey Kiddo, and so much more, is coming to visit our library this summer! He’ll give a presentation on how he became a graphic novelist, how he writes books, and then will answer questions from the audience while he draws! Registration is encouraged.

Nearly 25 years later, the “fad” that was Pokemon is still going strong, with more ways to engage with the franchise than ever before.
Come share your love of all things Pokemon with other enthusiasts! Feel free to bring your device to play Pokemon GO, your trading cards to battle and trade, or any of the many handheld video games to play and share with each other. Each meeting of the Club will feature a game to play together on the Library’s Nintendo Switch.
We are delighted to have theater teacher, Heidi Haas, join us for this series! Every workshop includes warm-up exercises, scene work, and theater games. The workshop introduces the value of using drama to express feelings, playfully solve problems, and encourages children to challenge themselves and participate as fully as they feel comfortable. Team building and creating a sense of safety are integral parts of the process and draw on the strengths of the students to foster a sense of pride in what they can accomplish as a group. Ever wonder how a movie gets made? In this 4-week workshop, we will work together to make an original short film. Each session will focus on another aspect of production, from screenwriting to editing, and the skills learned here will travel to wherever you want them to go. No prior skill required, and it’s okay if you can’t make it every week.
