Beeswax Candle Workshop (for kids)!

Grab and go kits will be available for pick up starting at 11:00am. Create your own fully-functional candle using sheets of colorful beeswax. Kits will include instructions and supplies, limited grab and go kits will be available. A perfect gift to light up the new year for someone you love.  Recommended for ages 5-11.

“Noon” Year’s Eve!

Celebrate with us outside (weather permitting). Come dressed to impress and capture the moment at our outside photobooth, visit our outside noisemaker creation-station to get ready for the big night, and stock up on books to ring (and read) in the new year. Drop-in any time during the event! All ages are welcome.

OUTSIDE
Check out our new STORYWALK® featuring Over and Under the Snow,
written by Kate Messner with illustrations by Christopher Silas Neal.

TO-GO
For Adults – Take n’ Make SNOWFLAKES, available on the main floor.
Pick from Star Wars & Frozen snowflake designs. Colored pencil packs
are available while supplies last. (Recommended for ages 12+).

For Kids – Get crafty with your little ones by creating air-dried
SNOWPEOPLE. Kits with all necessary supplies will be available to pick
up while supplies last. (Recommended for ages 3+).

Author Talk with Carol Weis

Come join local author, Carol Weis, for a reading from her memoir, STUMBLING HOME: Life Before and After That Last Drink. Carol will also answer questions about the book, her writing process and her own personal journey, as well as sign copies of her book for those who are interested.

Masks are required at this event.

Author Bio:
Carol Weis, who became a writer when she got sober, has been an actor, teacher, professional cook and baker, and for years, ran poetry workshops in local schools. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, AARP, The Independent, ESPN, Good Housekeeping, OZY, Cosmo, Salon, and numerous other venues, and has been read as commentary on NPR. She’s also the author of the Simon & Schuster picture book, WHEN THE COWS GOT LOOSE, and the poetry chapbook, DIVORCE PAPERS.
