“Tails & Tales” Summer 2021 Reading Programs

Join us for 6 weeks of adventures in “Tails & Tales” Virtual Programs!

All Summer Reading Program Youth and Teen participants will receive a gift certificate for an ice cream cone/cup from our favorite-Mt Tom’s Homemade Ice Cream! Registration begins on June 28th, ends August 7th. Weekly and Grand Final Raffle! ewmlibrary.org/tailsandtales-kids

Wally’s Making Books Come Alive (virtual program) Kick Off Event SRP 2021!!

Come along with Wally on an interactive reading adventure! Our kick off program for Summer 2021 Reading Program! He will be showing kids how to use sounds, actions, and imagination to make books come alive! This fun, fast-paced show invites kids to explore the joys of reading while laughing and increasing their confidence in learning.

Wild Wonders Presents “Walk on the Wild Side!”

Walk on the Wild Side

Wild Wonders has your passport to adventure with animals from all over the world – including South America, Africa, Australia, Asia, and North America!  This program will features 6 animals!
This virtual program will have a period of questions and answers at the end.

No library cards or pre-registration required!  To pick one up, call us when you arrive and let us know that you are here for an Adult Take and Make kit.  

Weekly Take & Make crafts kits will be available to adults during Curbside Service hours.

Projects will change every Monday and be available for pickup through Saturday of that week.

Kits are first come, first serve, as supplies are limited.

Each Take & Make craft kit you complete earns you TWO (2) raffle tickets to enter into our Adult Summer Reading weekly raffle.

To earn your two (2) raffle tickets:

Post a picture of your completed project on social media and tag us! Please make sure that your post is visible to the public. (Our Facebook & Twitter @ewmlibrary , Instagram @ehlibrary)

Send a picture of your completed project to slevine@ewmlibrary.org with the words “Take and Make” in the subject line of your email.

We will have Art Tales to Go this Summer!  Creative projects in a bag to pick up curbside, includes all you need! All projects will require your imagination and creativity! Have fun! Call us when you arrive between the hours of 10:30-6:30 on Tuesdays only, we will bring it out to the table for you to pick up. Supplies are limited!

The Whalemobile Presents: The Tale of the Tail of a Humpback Whale!
Jul 14 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Cynde McInnis of The Whalemobile will present this 1 -hour virtual program. This tale is about one of Cynde’s favorite humpback whales Nile. She was bornin 1987, and Cynde has seen her almost every year since since she has been whale watching (1994)! Cynde will be sharing why Nile’s is her favorite and how scientists study humpbacks (by the patterns on their Tails). We will “virtually” go inside a life-sized model of Nile to learn about how humans and whales are similar! In the end, we will disc uss actions we can take to help protect whales! This program is for students 6+. Registration will be required — contact youthdept@ewmlibrary.org. Click here for access.
