We are delighted to have theater teacher, Heidi Haas, join us for this series! Every workshop includes warm-up exercises, scene work, and theater games. The workshop introduces the value of using drama to express feelings, playfully solve problems, and encourages children to challenge themselves and participate as fully as they feel comfortable. Team building and creating a sense of safety are integral parts of the process and draw on the strengths of the students to foster a sense of pride in what they can accomplish as a group. Led by award-winning teen writer, Aliya Axelrad, this workshop is designed to allow students age 12 and up a place to explore their own passion and love for creative writing. Suggested prompts and topics will be provided, and we all have a chance to share and celebrate each other’s work. The Easthampton Public Library, the Easthampton Council on Aging and Easthampton Public Schools invite you to an intergenerational community event around Alzheimer’s, cycling and family. Join us at 5pm for a cycling & aging resource fair + craft, then at 6pm for the Cycle of Memory documentary screening in EHS auditorium, followed by Q&A with producer Alex Leff. Join Nancy for a presentation and showing of birdwatching materials (binoculars, bird guides, etc.), then go outside together to listen and see what birds you can find. This program is happening rain or shine. In the event of bad weather, Nancy will lead a bird-friendly/birdwatching craft.

Nancy Stenberg has been an avid birdwatcher since she was 10 years old. She was inspired by the novel Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. She enjoys her work as an elementary school librarian, and is a proud mother and grandmother.
