Chess Club

Join the Easthampton Public Library Chess Club! The club will start from square one and everyone is welcome–beginner or expert! Learn the real rules and how to use all of your pieces. Study famous games and learn winning strategies to improve your play. Ages 9+ (Children below 9 need to be accompanied by an adult). Space is limited. Yoga with Brian Mulligan

Free adult yoga class, weekly on Mondays (except the 4th Monday) from 6-7pm with Brian Mulligan. Brian stresses a gentle approach to yoga with emphasis on proper alignment, safety and well-balanced classes.

Drop-in and bring your own yoga mat.

Brian is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor who studied under Kim Valerie’s Iyengar based Yoga Spirits out of Beverly, MA. He’s also certified to teach chair yoga, having studied under Lakshmi Voelker’s Get Fit Where You Sit program. Lakshmi has trained over 1600 Chair yoga instructors and trains out of Kripalu.

Heartstopper #5 Release Party

Have you fallen in love with Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper??  Come celebrate the release of the fifth graphic novel with us! Hang out with other fans, have snacks, make friendship bracelets and pronoun/pride pins, try your hand at fan fiction, and listen to music from the Netflix series.

Come join Easthampton Public Health Nurse, Chris Southworth, and quiet your mind with line design by making gel pen snowflakes! Drop in or stay the whole hour, we will have materials to make beautiful, geometric snowflake line drawings. Program is designed for school aged children and teens.

Stuffie Yoga and Sleepover

Bring a beloved stuffie to enjoy a mindful morning & raucous night!

  1. Arrive with your stuffie to check them in and craft their yoga mat.
  2. Accompany your stuffie for a special yoga session with instructor Barbara Paulo.
  3. Say goodbye for the night…
  4. Pick up your stuffie the next day and hear about their marvelous adventure!

Teen Bookbinding Workshop

In this class, led by artist Lisa Hersey of Antler Editions, we will explore different bookbinding techniques that can be recreated at home. Making a book can be as simple as folding one sheet of paper, or involve 16 pages and sewing! Students will learn how to put content into their books for reproducing editions of their work for themselves or to bring to Press On: Indie Publishing Festival! We will have time to work together and create original books by either decorating the covers, or putting words/drawings onto the pages.
