CANCELLED – Yoga for (People With) Chronic Pain

The class on Tuesday, September 10th has been cancelled. Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 17th.

Brian Mulligan offers Yoga for people with chronic pain. A blending of poses, breathing techniques, meditation and positive thinking.
Participants should be able to get up and down off the floor, chairs can be used as assistance.

Folding chairs will be provided. Please BYO Yoga Mats!

Tuesdays at 10am.  No registration required, participation may be limited if demand outstrips space constraints. First come, first served.

Till the Last Beat of My Heart Book Release Party with the Author!

Come join us for the unforgettable debut novel release of local author, Louangie Bou-Montes! Louangie will be talking about her spooky, swoony YA Contemporary Fantasy, TILL THE LAST BEAT OF MY HEART in conversation with Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, New York Times Bestselling author of ACE OF SPADES and WHERE SLEEPING GIRLS LIE. The evening will include crafts, cake, and time to chat with the authors. High Five Books will be there selling books from both authors! Recommended for youth and adults ages 12 and up. Baby and Toddler Storytime

Come join us for books and playtime! We will gather for songs and stories designed for ages 1-3, but babies, preschoolers, and siblings are all welcome as well. At 11am a craft project will be offered.

Knitting & Crocheting Group

Fingers flying, knots tying! Do you love to knit or crochet and enjoy good company? Drop in to our informal knitting/crocheting group, which offers an opportunity for adults to get together, bring a project to work on, and have others nearby for advice. Meeting weekly on Mondays.

Please note that this is not a knitting class, but instead an opportunity to share current knitting projects with others, to make new friends, and to learn tips and tricks at the same time.
Yoga with Brian Mulligan

Free adult yoga class, weekly on Mondays (except the 4th Monday) from 6-7pm with Brian Mulligan. Brian stresses a gentle approach to yoga with emphasis on proper alignment, safety and well-balanced classes.

Drop-in and bring your own yoga mat.

Brian is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor who studied under Kim Valerie’s Iyengar based Yoga Spirits out of Beverly, MA. He’s also certified to teach chair yoga, having studied under Lakshmi Voelker’s Get Fit Where You Sit program. Lakshmi has trained over 1600 Chair yoga instructors and trains out of Kripalu.

ECOA Book Club @ Easthampton Council on Aging

The Easthampton Council on Aging Book Club meets at the Council on Aging every other month on the third Thursday, from 2 – 3:30pm. We provide copies of each title for participants to check out. Mountain River Taiko Performance

We are delighted to be hosting an all-ages Taiko perfomance on the library lawn! Taiko is a full-body performance art that blends physicality and musicality, movement and rhythm. Originating in Japan but molded by a globalized world, taiko performances pay homage to ancient rhythms as well as innovate contemporary beats. Bring a blanket to sit on if you’d like.

Mountain River Taiko is a multi-generational community group sharing their love of Japanese drumming in western Massachusetts and beyond for over 10 years.
