Spring is in the air! Time for a new guesstimation contest! April brings showers and worms, gummi worms that is! Stop by the Youth Department to enter your guess! Closest number to the actual amount of worms, without going over, will be the winner! We will contact the new owner of the jar of worms on Saturday, April 23rd!

Wally will be stopping by The Emily Williston Memoria Library! We are excited to have The Red Sox Mascot visit for a “Meet & Greet”! You can stop by and have a picture with Wally! Bring your camera/phone for this fun opportunity to capture and keep! Don’t forget to wear your Red Sox gear! A 4-meeting webinar on “Can We Stop Climate Change?” Each meeting is 90 minutes, from 6:30-8pm, starting on Wednesday, April 20th and continuing on Wednesdays April 27th, May 4th and May 11th.

Attendance at all sessions is required. Max of 15 registrants.

The first session covers the most recent information about the science and problems caused by climate change. The second session is mostly about renewable energy sources, primarily solar and wind, and the amazing advances in the past decade. The third meeting addresses climate models—specifically the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator which is used for policy-making decisions. The final session is focused on the audience we are trying to reach and actions that each of us can take.

The course is designed for people who are interested in learning more about climate change; becoming more effective in communicating with others; and actively mitigating the impact on our planet and ourselves. The course is not designed for climate deniers.

Create your own stamps to use to make greeting cards for all occasions. Materials will be provided to get you started! Workshop will be limited registration, Kits will be available to take on a first come, first served basis until they run out. Ages 4-18.
