Story Hour with Ms. Lynne

Come join Storyteller Ms. Lynne for our weekly Story Hour! We will have a craft, read a story and eat some yummy snacks. This event is for ages 5 and under.  This story time follows the school schedule which means no stories during school vacations or during the summer.

David Daley, former Editor-in-Chief of Salon, joins the library on June 14th to talk about his book, Rat F**ked: Why Your Vote Doesn’t CountWith much political and judicial debate around gerrymandering in today’s news cycle, we are thrilled to have the man who wrote the book uncovering the GOP-organized REDMAP program to reshape districts and legislatures in favor of Republican interests. Copies of Daley’s book are available at the library for checkout. Daley will be talking about his book with local author Seth Harwood, answering your questions, and signing books. Join us for tea and coffee to follow.

Bus Trip to New York Botanical Garden

Emily’s Friends are sponsoring a bus trip to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx!

The trip will take place on Saturday, June 16.

The Garden is featuring works by Georgia O’Keeffe, which will offer a rare focus on 20 of O’Keeffe’s depictions of Hawai‘i from a nine-week sojourn in 1939 while on commission to produce images for a Hawaiian Pineapple Company promotional campaign.

The $100 cost of the ticket includes the bus trip, tip for the driver, and a ticket to the New York Botanical Garden as well as a tour of the Garden and exhibit.

The bus will leave from Sheldon Field in Northampton at 7:30am and will return at 6:30pm.

Libraries Rock! … is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading. Our programs will run from Monday, June 25th through Saturday, August 4th. Registration begins the morning of the first day, but will stay open for the full six weeks. So join us as we get musical and get dancin’ in the stacks (literally)!!
