Musical Moments with Carolyn Mazel!

Join us in welcoming Carolyn Mazel back to the Library! This family-friendly event will introduce the joy of music in a structured environment. We’ll sing songs, learn basic music concepts, and play simple instruments. You’re sure to be dancing by the end! Registration is required. Recommended for ages 1-6.

Noisy Nature with the Creature Teachers!

Join us in welcoming the Creature Teachers as we learn the specifics behind why animals make certain noises and why it’s important to them. We’ll also get to meet some noisy critters face to face, like birds, a whistle pig, and maybe even an alligator! Registration is required. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

She has once again devised a broad spectrum of open-ended art projects, this time around the summer’s theme, Libraries Rock! We may even listen to some music to inspire us while working on our projects. Shake, Rattle, & Read with the Eric Carle Museum!

Pokemon Club!

Over 20 years later, the “fad” that was Pokemon is still going strong, with more ways to engage with the franchise than ever before.

Come share your love of all things Pokemon with other enthusiasts! Feel free to bring your device to play Pokemon GO, you’re trading cards to build decks and battle, or any of the many handheld video games to play and share with each other. As this new club evolves, we may also explore opportunities to watch the anime or play certain console-only games.

YSRP Final Event Cookout featuring Liam Hurley!

Join us to celebrate the end of another rockin’ reading program! Participants who read 12 hours or more during the summer are eligible to come to this event at Nonotuck Park. The first hour will feature games, activities, and food, followed by a rock ‘n’ roll story time with local musician Liam Hurley. Registration is required — when you sign up, please let us know if you are able to bring any sides, snacks, drinks, or dessert to share (we’ll provide the main course). All ages are welcome!

Baby Time!

Visit the Library with your little one and share some quality time together. Enjoy songs, rhymes, movement, books, and playtime in each interactive session. Your baby will have the opportunity to hear lots of language while you get to know other families with young children. Recommended for ages 0-15 months.
