Join local artist Dave Wallace (incendavery.com) this summer, to experiment with some of his favorite forms of artistic media! Learn tips and tricks for using specific supplies, and practice bringing your imagination to life through the colors you put on a page! All supplies will be provided — no experience necessary. Space is limited for this in-person event, so please contact the Youth Department to register. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Build and decorate your own wooden paddle boat, We will provide all the materials for campers to use. Test it out in our water pool!  Ages 5+ Registration required

Our favorite artist, Lois, is back this summer with a fabulous workshop in Adventures in Art! Each week she will present a new form of an art adventure to explore and create. We never know where we will go with Lois Off the Beaten Path! Ages 6+ Registration required

Virtual cooking class! Get ready to power through your next adventure with your own homemade bars. We will use simple and tasty ingredients from your pantry to create our own unique energy bars! Recipes will be available to prepare for this hands-on class. Registration required to receive class link. Adult supervision is required. Ages 5+

This is a fascinating project, draw on cotton fabric, add the alcohol/vinegar blend and watch the magic happen! During the workshop we will experiment with designing and blending permanent markers with rubbing alcohol and vinegar creating a watercolor effect.  We will each use a variety of permanent markers and recycled objects to make our own colorful creation and while still wet, the work may be taken home at the end of the workshop. A caregiver must be present for children under the age of 10 to help with the project. Wear an old shirt to protect your clothing. Ages 5+ Registration required

Ideal for the beginner, no experience necessary!

We will discuss colors and how to blend them in a successful manner using a permanent, high chroma, highly transparent liquid fabric paint. Instructions will be given for a step by step “tie dye style” creative process and each participant will go home with a beautiful, wearable creation. At the end of the workshop each participant will take home their scarf and allow it to dry overnight. Once the piece is dry, it can be ironed on the silk setting to permanently set the colors.

The scarf is 100% silk with a hand rolled (hand sewn) hem and 8” x 54”. The participants will need a minimum of 3 feet working space. Bring an old shirt to protect your clothing. Ages 12-18.

Families are invited to share summer stories, songs, rhymes, and music in a fun interactive program that builds early literacy skills. This program is designed for children birth to 5 years old, accompanied by a favorite adult.  Together we will enjoy making our own pinwheels to try and to take home. Registration required, limited supplies.

Slither your way into creativity with a ready to paint wooden snake. We will supply all the materials you need to make them look unique, hold by the tail and make them look real! Ages 5+ Registration required, limited supplies
