Around the World: Stories & Instruments!

Local storyteller Dr. Gail N. Herman returns to share some of her favorite treasures from around the world. She’ll show off instruments she’s collected from other countries, and then you’ll help perform multicultural stories using those instruments to create sound effects! At the end of the program, you can find what inspired you and work with the Library’s Storytelling & Writing Group — led by Gail — to write down a story of your own. Registration required. For ages 4 and up (parent participation suggested for ages 6 and under).

Flipped Script: Acting Workshop with Kate!

Kate Carreiro from Enchanted Circle Theater joins us to share her expertise in acting! In the second of two workshops, we’ll explore the area where literacy and theater intersect. We’ll play acting and improv games and try blocking scenes from a book in the Library’s collection. Registration is required. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

HAPPENING INDOORS: Kitchen Jam - Local Music Rocks! Concert Series

Please note: This performance will be INDOORS. downstairs in our programming space at the back of the Youth Department. 

FREE and open to all ages. JJoin us as we welcome Kitchen Jam for the second performance of our Local Music Rocks! Concert Series. Covers including acoustic guitar, hand drums & vocals.

Happening RAIN or SHINE!! That means that weather permitting, they will take place on the Library Green. Some chairs will be provided but please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

However, in the case of inclement weather — the show must go on! The performance will happen downstairs in our programming space at the back of the Youth Department. If so, we will advertise as such the day of the concert.

Art Composers with Lois!

Lois returns for another artful summer workshop series! She has once again devised a broad spectrum of open-ended art projects, this time around the summer’s theme, Libraries Rock! We may even listen to some music to inspire us while working on our projects. Come to one or come to all of these fun programs. Registration is required. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

We are proud to host Lianne Rempelakis, of Easthampton’s own Stepping Up Dance Center , as she joins us to teach four (4) adult dance classes. On Tuesdays, she’ll focus on jazz for beginners. Registration is strongly suggested.

Musical Moments with Carolyn Mazel!

Join us in welcoming Carolyn Mazel back to the Library! This family-friendly event will introduce the joy of music in a structured environment. We’ll sing songs, learn basic music concepts, and play simple instruments. You’re sure to be dancing by the end! Registration is required. Recommended for ages 1-6.

Please note: This session of Yoga for Adults is canceled. 

Free adult yoga class, every other Wednesday from 6-7pm with Brian Mulligan. Brian stresses a gentle approach to yoga with emphasis on proper alignment, safety and well balanced classes.

The class is drop-in, but you will need to bring your own mat.

Brian is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor who studied under Kim Valerie’s Iyengar based Yoga Spirits out of Beverly, MA. He’s also certified to teach chair yoga, having studied under Lakshmi Voelker’s Get Fit Where You Sit program. Lakshmi has trained over 1600 Chair yoga instructors and trains out of Kripalu.
