Our Graphic Novel Book Club meets monthly, on the first Tuesday, from 6:30 – 8 PM. All are welcome to join! Registration is required. Email Kelley at kcrisp@ewmlibrary.org if you are interested in joining and to request the next book title.

We will learn how to draw at least four breed of dogs. Cut the pictures in half to mix and match for maximum doggy cuteness! Virtual hands on program, register to get the Zoom link and materials needed for workshop. Ages 6-18

Moira will virtually lead the group to create (breads/soups/treats) using the stove top and/or oven, and sometimes the microwave. Recipes will be basic but will require use of different utensils and ingredients. Adult supervision is required. Register at youthdept@ewmlibrary.org to receive recipe and link for this virtual program. 7-18.

Family Story Time is officially back up and running in the Youth Department! We still have a couple of spots available for this Friday’s event. Each week will have a different in-person signup. There will also be a streamed version available for folks who can’t make it into the Library! A PowerPoint presentation offering a comprehensive introduction to the identification and uses of wild plants for food and beverage. Distinguishing characteristics, seasons of availability, habitats, methods of preparation, and nutritional and medicinal value of our region’s most common and appealing wild plants will be discussed. Questions and comments will be welcome at the conclusion of the presentation.

Presenter Bio:
John leads edible wild plant walks and lectures on a variety of landscaping and nature topics at libraries, nature centers, senior centers, and other venues throughout New England. He is also a landscaper, specializing in the creation of wildlife sanctuaries and edible landscaping, In addition, he is a cofounder of Pollinate Amherst and is actively engaged in facilitating the creation of pollinator habitat in his hometown.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Easthampton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Teen Advisory Board (“TAB” for short) is a group of teens that meets once a month on ZOOM. The TAB works with library staff to improve events, space, and collection that we offer to teens. Take ownership of these services and help us create the library that you want to see! The TAB is open to any students ages 12 – 18, whether they attend public, private, or home school.  Contact youthdept@ewmlibrary.org
