Family Story Time In-person and Virtual

Family Story Time is officially back up and running in the Youth Department! We still have a couple of spots available for this Friday’s event. Each week will have a different in-person signup. There will also be a streamed version available for folks who can’t make it into the Library! Register online (tinyurl.com/HybridFamilyTime) for virtual access to all 5 of the upcoming Family Times between now and the end of November.

Winter Baking Virtual Series for Youth and Teens
Dec 16 @ 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Moira will virtually lead the group to create (breads/soups/treats) using the stove top and/or oven. Recipes will be basic but will require use of different utensils and ingredients. Adult supervision is required. Register at youthdept@ewmlibrary.org to receive recipe and link for this virtual program.

A Gnome for your Home!
Dec 28 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Grab and go kits will be available for pick up starting on Tuesday at 2:00pm. The kits will include instructions and supplies. Inspired by the Tomten of Scandinavian folklore, create a little friend to watch over your home, using felt, wooden figures, and other craft supplies. Kits available until supplies run out. Recommended for ages 3 & up.

Beeswax Candle Workshop (for kids)!

Grab and go kits will be available for pick up starting at 11:00am. Create your own fully-functional candle using sheets of colorful beeswax. Kits will include instructions and supplies, limited grab and go kits will be available. A perfect gift to light up the new year for someone you love.  Recommended for ages 5-11.

“Noon” Year’s Eve!

Celebrate with us outside (weather permitting). Come dressed to impress and capture the moment at our outside photobooth, visit our outside noisemaker creation-station to get ready for the big night, and stock up on books to ring (and read) in the new year. Drop-in any time during the event! All ages are welcome.

Winter Mug Magic with Moira-Celebrate Vacation!

Teen Advisory Board!

Teen Advisory Board (“TAB” for short) is a group of teens that meets once a month on ZOOM. The TAB works with library staff to improve events, space, and collection that we offer to teens. Take ownership of these services and help us create the library that you want to see! Check out our new STORYWALK® featuring Over and Under the Snow,
written by Kate Messner with illustrations by Christopher Silas Neal.

TO-GO
For Adults – Take n’ Make SNOWFLAKES, available on the main floor.
Pick from Star Wars & Frozen snowflake designs. Colored pencil packs
are available while supplies last. (Recommended for ages 12+).

For Kids – Get crafty with your little ones by creating air-dried
SNOWPEOPLE. Kits with all necessary supplies will be available to pick
up while supplies last. (Recommended for ages 3+).
