Our Intersectional Speculative Fiction Book Club meets every other month, on the third Tuesday, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. All are welcome to join! Registration is required. Email Elli at bookclubs@ewmlibrary.org if you are interested in joining and to request the next book title.

Join local artist Dave Wallace (incendavery.com) to learn about his process for creating diary comics, and turn your own life into a work of art! Dave will lead participants through exercises that incorporate free writing, character creation, and scripting, before helping us put it all together into a finished comic. During this special four week workshop designed for youth ages 9 and up, participants will join Lisa Bastoni, award-winning folk singer and songwriter, to learn about a variety of song forms and elements, and work collaboratively and individually to turn their own experiences into songs! Led by award-winning teen writer, Aliya Axelrad, this workshop is designed to allow students age 12 and up a place to explore their own passion and love for creative writing. Suggested prompts and topics will be provided, and we all have a chance to share and celebrate each other’s work.
