Smith College astronomy professor and science writer for children, Meg Thacher, will be talking with families about the coming eclipse and leading us in an activity to make a pinhole eclipse viewers! Program geared for elementary aged children but siblings and families are welcome. Meet live animals from the Nook–they might even let you feel their scaly skin! Come enjoy award-winning folk duo Lisa Bastoni with Sean Staples for an acoustic evening. Lisa’s songs have been described as delicate, thoughtful and soul-stirring! We hope to see you there.
Lisa Bastoni (Northampton, MA) is a 2022 & 2023 New England Music Award Nominee (Roots), 2020 & 2019 Boston Music Award (Folk) and winner of 2019 New Folk at the esteemed Kerrville Folk Festival. In addition to her work in music, Lisa Bastoni is a visual artist and teacher. Lisa has opened for/performed with Lori McKenna, Dar Williams, Regina Spektor, The Secret Sisters, Teddy Thompson, Rose Cousins, Mark Erelli, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and many more. Her latest album, On The Water, was released in March 2024. She performs regularly around New England, and occasionally beyond.
