Renew your love of adventure at the Library! Join us on Mondays this summer for a 5-session D&D series running from July 1 through August 5 (no game 7/8). Can you help refresh a fledgling frontier-town by uncovering a much needed resource? Tread carefully — the vast sands of the Badlands might not be as barren as they seem! Recommended for ages 13-16. Knitting & Crocheting Group

Fingers flying, knots tying! Do you love to knit or crochet and enjoy good company? Drop in to our informal knitting/crocheting group, which offers an opportunity for adults to get together, bring a project to work on, and have others nearby for advice. Meeting weekly on Mondays.

Please note that this is not a knitting class, but instead an opportunity to share current knitting projects with others, to make new friends, and to learn tips and tricks at the same time.
Yoga with Brian Mulligan

Free adult yoga class, weekly on Mondays (except the 4th Monday) from 6-7pm with Brian Mulligan. Brian stresses a gentle approach to yoga with emphasis on proper alignment, safety and well-balanced classes.

Drop-in and bring your own yoga mat.

Brian is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor who studied under Kim Valerie’s Iyengar based Yoga Spirits out of Beverly, MA. He’s also certified to teach chair yoga, having studied under Lakshmi Voelker’s Get Fit Where You Sit program. Lakshmi has trained over 1600 Chair yoga instructors and trains out of Kripalu.

Community Art Shelves

During this quarterly program, you will have the chance to make something that will then be on display at the library for about three months. Theater and Improv Games with Heidi!

We are delighted to have theater teacher, Heidi Haas, join us for this series! Every workshop includes warm-up exercises, scene work, and theater games. The workshop introduces the value of using drama to express feelings, playfully solve problems, and encourages children to challenge themselves and participate as fully as they feel comfortable. Team building and creating a sense of safety are integral parts of the process and draw on the strengths of the students to foster a sense of pride in what they can accomplish as a group. Learn to Draw Diary Comics with Incendavery!

You asked, we answered. Why should kids have all the fun!? This exciting event is now available in an adult session as well!

Join local artist Dave Wallace (incendavery.com) to learn about his process for creating diary comics, and turn your own life into a work of art! Dave will lead participants through exercises that incorporate free writing, character creation, and scripting, before helping us put it all together into a finished comic.

Mini Film School!

Ever wonder how a movie gets made?  In this 4-week workshop, we will work together to make an original short film.  Each session will focus on another aspect of production, from screenwriting to editing, and the skills learned here will travel to wherever you want them to go.  No prior skill required, and it’s okay if you can’t make it every week.  Open to ages 12 and up,  registration is recommended, sign up at the library in person or by calling us at 413-527-1031 or emailing us at youthdept@ewmlibrary.org.
