Food for Fines!

We’ll be collecting non-perishable, not expired food items from Tues, Feb 18th through Sat, Mar 14th to benefit the Easthampton Community Center. Each item donated earns $2 off of overdue fines. If there is no expiration date, we cannot accept the item. We cannot clear items that are marked as “Lost”. We can only clear current overdue fines. No credit can be given for future fines.

NYT Magazine 1619 Project Discussion

We will gather to discuss selected articles in the New York Times Magazine 1619 Project issue. The first meeting on Monday, November 18th, will be to choose articles and plan December discussions. Registration is strongly suggested, as there are a limited number of magazine copies.

PAJAMA PARTY! Stories, Songs, and Snacks! Music with Andy!

Wear your PJ’s! Bring a new pair of PJ’s to donate! We are participating in the Boston Bruins PJ Drive to help DCF local offices and Cradles to Crayons. We will have stories, songs, and snacks to enjoy together. Andy will supply music and songs for everyone! Bring your stuffie, wear your jammies, and come ready to have fun!!

Ultimate Smash Tournament for Teens!

Show us your moves! The Library will be hosting a friendly video game tournament featuring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. We’ll be using mostly-official rules, with a special prize for the ultimate winner! All equipment and refreshments will be provided, and participation is free. Ages 12+.

Intro to Dungeons & Dragons for Teens

Do you feel like you’d love to play Dungeons & Dragons but you’ve never even opened a Player’s Handbook? Then we have the perfect workshop for you! Come learn the basics of the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game, from the Library’s resident Master of Adventure. Participants will learn to create their own character from scratch, then dive into a brief scenario to test them out! Registration required. Ages 12+.

 

CANCELLED: Basic Sewing with Libby Meehan

Please note: Registration is full. We are working on setting up future dates, so stay tuned!

Come join us for an introduction to sewing and the sewing machine! We will go over the basics of threading and using a sewing machine. We will have two machines available, so please feel free to bring your own machine if you have one. We will learn how to cut, pin, and sew a basic upcycled tote bag. The instructor will provide material to be upcycled for totes, but please feel free to bring your own material as well.

José Mediavilla (known to many as “the sign guy”) will discuss what motivates him as an activist. José will share research he has done on a range of subjects that impact our communities and the world, and what we can do to work towards solutions. No registration and vegan treats will be available.
