You are invited to hear the powerful and uplifting Race Amity presentation by award-winning Race Relations Media Producer, Writer, Author and Documentarian William H. Smith, E.D.

William H. Smith, E.D. is the Executive Producer and Senior Writer of public television documentary An American Story: Race Amity and the Other Tradition and co-author of its companion book Race Amity: America’s Other Tradition. He is the founding Executive Director of the National Center for Race Amity and recipient of the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame Award.

Nourishing the Nervous System: Herbs for Stress and Anxiety

We could all use a little stress relief these days. Luckily, the plants are here to help! Join Nora Toomey, Clinical Herbalist of True Bloom, to dive deep into a handful of plants that nourish and support the nervous system. In this one-hour program, you will learn plant actions and energetics as well as practical applications and preparations of various plants that prevent and relieve anxiety.

Nora Toomey is a Clinical Herbalist and Herbal Medicine Maker. She completed a 1,000 hour Apprenticeship and Clinical Certification at the Berkeley Herbal Center in California. She is the co-owner of a plant and sound meditation business, Flower and Frequency, and also runs a clinical practice and herbal product line, True Bloom. She is passionate about mutual aid and herbal harm reduction and has most recently begun work with the People’s Medicine Project, supporting folks through addiction and opioid use with plant medicine. Currently she lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, with her husband, Josh, and their cat, Stevie Nicks.

Tips and Tricks for Remote Learners

Schooling at home and homeschooling are different, but there’s also a lot of overlap.  Get some tips and tricks for Remote Learning from 20 year homeschool veteran, Linda Hincks.  We’ll talk about how to relieve stress for kids and adults alike and revive energy for learning.  Bring your questions and concerns.  Let’s talk about what’s most useful for you!

Linda Hincks, a homeschooling veteran of 20 years, is a former classroom teacher and museum educator. She’s taught groups of 2-250 in diverse subjects from poetry to oceanography to raptor physiology. Through the years, she has helped many families in their education journey. She can help you, too. Linda’s favorite things include reading, collecting information, lindy hop and most things ending in -ology.
