Teen Advisory Board!

Teen Advisory Board (“TAB” for short) is a group of teens that meets once a month on ZOOM. The TAB works with library staff to improve events, space, and collection that we offer to teens. Take ownership of these services and help us create the library that you want to see! Read Beyond The Beaten Path! Summer Reading Program 2022

Read, be read to, or read to someone! Join us for our SRP at The Emily Williston Memorial Library! Sign up starts Monday, June 27th and runs through August 8th. This Summer is packed with events, programs, special guests, and raffles! All you have to do is register and keep track of your time! Something for everyone! More information will be coming!

Outdoor Solar Ovens (with S’mores)!

Off the Beaten Path Scavenger Hunt on The Manhan Rail Trail!

What will be looking for and what will we find? Meghan from the Hampden Hampshire Conservation District will lead us through the scavenger hunt! Meet at the library (Youth Department) and we will walk together down to the Manhan Bike Trail to start our scavenger hunt (or meet us at Tandem on the trail). Fabulous Frogs of Massachusetts!

Laura from the Mass Audubon Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Easthampton will help us learn and identify frogs from around our state. We can use this information for our next camping and hiking adventure this summer! In-person, registration required. Ages 3+

Birds of Prey with Tom Ricardi!

Join wildlife rehabilitator Tom Ricardi for his ever-popular presentation on birds of prey. This program is designed for all ages. Tom will share fascinating facts and information about many different magnificent birds, demonstrate some of their unique behaviors and inspire children of all ages to appreciate, respect and conserve these important members of our wild kingdom. Registration is required.

Tom Ricardi is a licensed rehabilitator and wildlife biologist. He runs Massachusetts Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center in Conway, MA, and is now retired after 40 years of service as a Massachusetts Environmental Conservation police officer.

Color Scouts: Explore Alcohol-based Markers!

Join local artist Dave Wallace (incendavery.com) this summer, to experiment with some of his favorite forms of artistic media! Learn tips and tricks for using specific supplies, and practice bringing your imagination to life through the colors you put on a page! All supplies will be provided — no experience necessary. Space is limited for this in-person event, so please contact the Youth Department to register. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
