Our celebration of summer includes a program of making special summer memory jars and an outdoor visit from Crooked Stick Pops! Complete your Summer Reading Program with a fabulous treat for reaching your goal! Make sure all your earned raffle tickets are entered for a chance to win one of our fun, experiential prizes. Join children and families who have decorated lanterns and walk with them and the nuns and monks from the NE Peace Pagoda to Nashawannuck Pond where the lanterns will be drawn out across the pond in the traditional ceremony. We will gather at the library at 5:30, where there will be ice cream for children, and then walk together to the pond for the lantern launch which will start at 6pm.

The Easthampton Public Library, the Easthampton Council on Aging and Easthampton Public Schools invite you to an intergenerational community event around Alzheimer’s, cycling and family. Join us at 5pm for a cycling & aging resource fair + craft, then at 6pm for the Cycle of Memory documentary screening in EHS auditorium, followed by Q&A with producer Alex Leff. Guided by old photographs of the 1945 trip, they search for places aged by time… With the help of a grandmother learning to live alone for the first time, Mel’s lifelong friend and co-adventurer on the bike trip, and a family collection spanning 1950s film reels to 1990s video tapes, Cycle of Memory explores the importance of intergenerational connection, healing painful pasts, and leaving a meaningful time capsule for the future.”

Come enjoy award-winning folk singer songwriter Lisa Bastoni for an acoustic evening. Lisa’s songs have been described as delicate, thoughtful and soul-stirring! We hope to see you there.

Lisa Bastoni is a Northampton, MA-based singer-songwriter. She is a 2021 New England Music Award nominee (Roots), 2020 & 2019 Boston Music Award Nominee (Folk) and winner of 2019 New Folk at the esteemed Kerrville Folk Festival. In addition to her work in music, Lisa Bastoni is an accomplished visual artist and teacher, with artwork currently on display at Club Passim. She performs regularly with multi-instrumentalist/producer Sean Staples, a fixture on the Boston/Cambridge roots/folk scene. Lisa Bastoni has opened for/performed with Lori McKenna, Dar Williams, Regina Spektor, The Secret Sisters, Teddy Thompson, Rose Cousins, Mark Erelli, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and many more.
